TYSONS, Va. — Argent Security is expanding its LUCENT counter-concealment research pilot with additional state and local public-safety partners.
The program addresses black-market Null Coat products now encountered in two principal forms: vehicle paints and coatings designed to interfere with automated detection, and personal-applied products including skin creams and hair gels.
LUCENT fuses optical, polarization, thermal, depth, radio-frequency, motion and environmental data. The research objective is to identify inconsistencies among these sensing domains rather than rely on a single modality to “see through” concealment.
The expanded pilot adds controlled test sets, sensor calibration work and human factors evaluation. Argent has not announced a production schedule.
